Position: Head of Marketing

Compensation: $130k - $150k Base Salary + Bonus
Location: New York City (Hybrid)
Our client is seeking a Head of Marketing to lead all marketing efforts across their diverse portfolio of events in industries such as finance, retail, and life sciences. This role offers the opportunity to build and grow a team of marketers while driving attendance, fostering thought leadership, and enhancing the overall event experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in event marketing and a proven track record of building and leading sophisticated marketing teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for a portfolio of around 50 events, aligning with company objectives and industry trends.
- Lead and mentor junior marketing team members, providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Identify opportunities for team expansion and enhancement, strategically growing the marketing team to meet evolving business needs.
- Drive paid and unpaid attendance of our events through targeted marketing campaigns, leveraging various channels and tactics to reach our target audience.
- Establish the organization as a leader in the conference and in respective focus industries through compelling content, thought-provoking insights, and strategic positioning.
- Enhance the overall event experience through innovative marketing initiatives, ensuring that attendees are engaged and satisfied.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in event marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the conference industry.
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing marketing teams, preferably within a conference or tradeshow company.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective marketing strategies.
- Experience in attendee acquisition, thought leadership, and brand positioning within the conference or events space.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
