Head of HPC Performance

My client is a world-class quantitative hedge fund who is renowned for being one of the early adaptors within the HPC and AL/ML space. They have leveraged the talent of the brightest computer scientists who are actively researching and advancing their global HPC Research Clusters. We are now looking for someone to take ownership of their research and development team to optimise their next generation HPC for algorithmic trading.

Position Overview:

As the principle engineer, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing their HPC and AI compute workloads to increase trading capabilities. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders in the business including the quantitative researchers, data scientists, and software engineers to create innovative solutions that drive their competitive edge in the capital markets.

Responsibilities:

• Deep dive and investigate the current performance issues of the current AI and HPC workloads.
• Partner with senior stakeholders and internal users to understand the problems and issues they are currently facing day to day and provide a resolution.
• Help support the growth of the R&D team by defining and executing a plan to hire the best possible candidates which you will later on mentor and manage.
• Lead the discussions with the wider business to identify areas for further improvements and investments.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with low level programming in C++ and in-depth knowledge of hardware and operating systems
• In-depth understanding of recent GPU architectures and performance optimizations
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and NumPy.
• Strong knowledge of accelerated programming stack such as CUDA, MPI, and AVX
• Experience with high-performance computing and optimization techniques.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics
