Realm is partnering with a FinTech company based in New York City, who are looking for a Head of Engineering to join them.
About the Role:
As Head of Engineering, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology and will be establishing and building the engineering team. You'll grow a talented team of engineers in building and maintaining a robust tech stack that underpins our innovative financial products. This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week on-site in our NYC office, offering the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of in-person collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic vision and leadership for the engineering team, ensuring our tech stack aligns with business goals and industry best practices.
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, architecture design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Recruit, hire, and mentor top engineering talent, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Champion best practices in software development, including code quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop and implement a clear technical roadmap that prioritizes initiatives and drives product development.
- Manage engineering budgets and resources effectively.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in the FinTech space.
Qualifications:
- Experience as either a Principal or Staff Engineer or a Head of Engineering
- Proven track record of building and scaling complex, secure, and reliable software systems.
- In-depth knowledge of modern web development technologies, including TypeScript, React, GraphQL and Solidity.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) a plus.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into actionable technical plans.
- Passion for the FinTech industry and a desire to make a positive impact.
