Overview:

The Helium Foundation is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit dedicated to spreading secure, cost-effective wireless coverage around the globe. As the steward of the Helium Network, the world's largest decentralized wireless network, the Helium Foundation exists to help grow the community, implement network governance, drive ecosystem development, and provide public education.

The Helium Network has completely reshaped how wireless infrastructure is built through the power of blockchain technology.

We are looking for a Communications Lead to raise the bar in telling the Helium Network story. You'll continue to help shape our narrative, drive content creation, run campaigns as you see fit, consider new educational resources, and celebrate the community's achievements around the world. You love writing and bring strong opinions on how to craft a message. You have experience leading brand, social media, events, marketing, or similarly scoped campaigns. You excel at content creativity and know the recipe for top-quality productions, from wide-reaching interactive to a targeted blog post. You hold yourself accountable through metrics and proactively report on results.

Your Role:

• Develop positioning and communications strategies for the organization and the broader Helium ecosystem. Help the public understand the promise and potential of The Helium Foundation and The Helium network by showcasing stories already delivering on that.
• Build a communications roadmap for new features, ecosystem products, partnerships, and other community updates.
• Lead the creation of compelling interactive and informative content surrounding the Helium Network.
• Prepare press releases, bylined articles, blogs, social media posts, events, and company announcements.
• Onboard and work with an agency partner. Own and manage the execution of successful PR programs.
• Cultivate new and existing relationships with media and influencers. Identify and maintain targeted press lists, proactive pitch opportunities, industry research, and trends.
• Manage day-to-day media relations, inbound press requests, and speaking inquiries.

Requirements:

• Experienced as a Communications Director or VP leading a public relations or senior communications-related role.
• Outstanding communication skills as a writer and speaker. Able to distill thoughts into concise expressions.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to the ever-changing start-up environment.
• Strength in developing pitches, press releases, blogs, social media posts, and general company communications.
• Mindful and thoughtful about cultural communication differences (we're a global project).
• Preference for demonstrated excitement for Web 3.0, blockchain, or wireless innovation.
• Passionate about great storytelling and connecting with audiences.

Salary Range: $175,000 - $235,000 per year
