We are seeking a dedicated Guidance Counselor to join our vibrant team. This pivotal role involves supporting our high school students as they prepare for college, including assistance with college applications, scholarship searches, and writing reference letters. Additionally, the Guidance Counselor will address the developmental, emotional, and social needs of all our students, ranging from 3K to 12th grade. This includes implementing proactive guidance programs, providing individual counseling, and fostering a supportive school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to discuss academic and personal goals.
- Assist high school students in preparing for college, including guidance on college selection, application processes, and financial aid.
- Write thoughtful and impactful reference letters for college and scholarship applications.
- Develop and implement comprehensive guidance programs that cater to all grade levels.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administration to support students educational and emotional needs.
- Address any behavioral and academic concerns, providing interventions and referrals as necessary.
- Promote an understanding of Islamic values in handling all counseling activities.
Qualifications:
- Master s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Valid state certification/licensure in school counseling.
- Experience in school counseling or a related educational field.
- Strong understanding of the college admissions process.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to write clear, detailed, and persuasive reference letters.
- Knowledge of and respect for Islamic traditions and culture.
- Commitment to the ethical guidelines of the counseling profession.
