Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesHDR is looking for a Stormwater/Green Infrastructure/Site Civil Engineer in our Water Business Group to lead Green Infrastructure, Stormwater Management, and Site Civil Designprojects in our Water Group in New York and New Jersey. Specific duties include:
  • Lead design of stormwater/green infrastructure projects and interface with clients in New York and New Jersey
  • Coordinate and lead a multidiscipline design teams and interface with clients throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages to concept design and through the development of construction documents, permit applications and construction administration.
  • Develop planning studies, alternative analyses, conceptual designs, construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations and cost estimates, as well as the review of shop drawings during construction.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in urban retrofits and development, including green infrastructure in the right-of-way, parks or other open spaces, and the design of building/facility related site civil (site plans, grading, utilities/yard piping, storm drainage, stormwater BMPs, and erosion control) is required.
  • This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative and possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills with initiative
*LI-MP1QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline
  • PE
  • Experience in stormwater management, green infrastructure, site development and civil design
  • Experience with Green Infrastructure and Stormwater Design in New York City
  • Strong operating knowledge of Civil 3D required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of modeling software such as Hydraflow Storm Sewers, Hydraflow Hydrographs, HydroCAD, Bentley StormCAD, etc.; familiarity with InfoWorks ICM and/or SWMM modeling products.
  • MS or MSCE Degree in Civil Engineering preferred
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm leading designs focused on stormwater solutions desired
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Local candidates are preferred. Preference would be for the position to be in our New York City office, but Woodcliff Lake NJ, or White Plains, NY would be considered for an experienced candidate.
