Proskauer is seeking a creative and motivated individual to join our Branding & Design team as a Graphic Design Intern in our New York office. This person will assist with the creation of a wide variety of materials associated with the firm's global marketing campaigns and initiatives and will be involved in all stages of marketing content development from ideation to production. They will get hands-on experience working on designs and layouts for publications, websites, blogs, email communications, social media, brochures, ads, videos, event collateral, and other brand enhancing projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working in a fast-paced, corporate creative environment with a team of people who are experts in their fields, but more importantly they are great people to work with; people who take an active interest in the personal and professional development of their team members. While working on projects, the Graphic Design Intern will collaborate with our creative director, brand manager and designers as well as members of our digital marketing, social media marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, and business development teams. Beyond design experience, they will gain an understanding of the varied disciplines involved in marketing campaigns. Responsibilities
  • Assist with the design and production of graphic solutions that support the firm's strategic communications.
  • Participate in the full design production workflow process: work with team members on concepts, storyboards and design drafts using Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; receive direction and act on input from art director, design manager and other senior stakeholders; work with designers on updates and content revisions; prepare finalized layouts for production and distribution across all channels; and regroup and discuss project success.
  • Ensure all project work adheres to firm branding and style guidelines.
  • Attend daily design team briefings (as schedule allows) and report on workflow and project statuses and take an active role in project meetings with design and other team members.
  • Edit images for inclusion in firm marketing collateral and perform image searches (Getty Images primarily) as needed to incorporate into layouts.
  • Create images for social media promotions and work with social media team members on customized social media layouts for campaigns.
  • Work with digital marketing team on developing promotional images for the firm's websites and blogs.
  • Opportunities exist to assist with video editing and sound design for digital media projects. While these are not required for this position, the team will welcome participation of anyone with skillsets and interest in these areas.
  • Maintain an awareness of trends and best practices in graphic design, communications and marketing, and share insights and input on design approaches used in marketing campaigns.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a fine arts or graphic design program.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite -- InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat -- and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere and After Effects a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for design and typography.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members across multiple disciplines.
  • Demonstrated creativity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
This internship will run from June 3, 2024 through July 26, 2024. This position will require physical presence in Proskauer's offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation for this position is $17 per hour. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. Proskauer is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing a work environment that fosters diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity without regard to race, color, gender, age, creed, sex, religion, national origin, disability (physical or mental), marital status, citizenship, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, or any other legally protected status.
