Insp r Senior Living, Maplewood Senior Living s new brand of world-class, urban senior living properties, is now hiring a Fitness Director for its new Insp r Carnegie Hill property. Insp r Carnegie Hill is located on the Upper East Side and stands 23 stories with 215 residential units. It offers assisted living, enhanced care, and memory care with a unique and innovative Integrated Care Model. Responsibilities:

Operational and Financial Management:

  • Lead the business operations of the fitness and aquatic department, adhering to budgetary goals, analyzing performance, and ensuring optimal operational efficiency within budget.
  • Oversee all aspects of operating the fitness center and pool.

Program Development and Management:

  • Develop and implement program strategies for offering exceptional fitness and aquatics classes and services for our residents.
  • Create and run high-quality, engaging fitness and aquatic programs that cater to the diverse needs of our residents.
  • Schedule personal training sessions to work one-on-one with residents, addressing individual needs.
  • Create, maintain, and update all resident's Personalized Fitness Plans.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor fitness and aquatics staff, aligning with our brand and fostering professional growth.
  • Manage team performance through regular evaluations, setting targets, and providing constructive feedback.

Resident Relationship Management:

  • Oversee personalized resident fitness and aquatics offerings, from new resident assessments to engaging current residents in programs.
  • Actively communicate with residents, ensuring high satisfaction with fitness and aquatics programming.
  • Welcome new residents and present an overview of all fitness-related activities, planning follow-up visits to construct a Personalized Fitness Plan.

Additional Duties:

  • Required to test pool water daily and make chemical adjustments as necessary.
  • Provide preventive measures and exercise classes that address Fall Prevention.
  • Attend Monthly All-Associate and Quarterly Regional Fitness Director/Specialist meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Recreation Management, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Lifeguard with current certification from a recognized organization; or ability to obtain certification upon hiring.
  • Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification preferred.
  • AED/CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fitness and aquatics management, preferably in a luxury residential or senior living setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive financial performance and manage departmental budget.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with active listening capabilities.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform exercise demonstrations and classes.

  • Ability to foster a positive, productive team culture and adhere to brand standards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Proficient in managing high volumes of communication and organizing team accountability.
  • High technical aptitude for utilizing fitness equipment, management software, and scheduling tools.
  • Enthusiastic about the fitness and wellness industry, promoting a healthy lifestyle particularly with the older adult population.
  • Ability to develop a wide range of classes to cover all areas of senior fitness, create appropriate music lists for classes, and deliver fitness-related talks and presentations.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and building confidence, relationships, and unity through physical activity.
