Job Type Full-timeDescriptionSummary:Under the guidance and supervision of the Program Coordinator, the FSA is responsible for assisting the families assigned in ensuring that all their needs are met by connecting them to community resources and navigating them through the RCSD and other pertinent systems.Essential Functions:Conducts parent meetings, parent activities, home visits.Provide interpretation and transportation services as needed and maintain up-to-date case notes about services provided in each family's file.Must be able to develop a trusting relationship with the families; interact positively and respectfully with staff, parents, students, and colleagues, and demonstrate a commitment to the mission of IBERO-American Action League, Inc.Any other duties as may be assigned by the FSA Program Coordinator.Authority:This position holds a relatively high degree of independence within the framework of the agency's policies and procedures. The individual must be resourceful and able to display initiative and understanding of management systems and interpersonal relations.RequirementsPosition Qualifications:Analytical Skills - Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures.Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.Developing Others-Ability to teach or foster the development of others, giving constructive feedback and reassurance after problems.Diversity Oriented - Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.Ethical - Ability to demonstrate professionalism conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.Interpersonal-Ability/desire to understand others' attitudes/interests/needs/nonverbal behavior, listening skills, and understanding strengths/limitations of others.Leadership- Ability to Motivate, influence, and support others to accomplish team and organizational goals.Training & Presentation Skills.Relationship Building-Ability to build/maintain friendly relationships/networks with people who might be useful in achieving work-related goals.Reliability - The trait of being dependable and trustworthy.Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.Communication, Written - Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.Skills and Abilities:Associate's Degree in Human Services, Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Counseling preferred.Family Service Credential.Experience working with urban youth and families.Bilingual in English and Spanish- oral and written.Demonstrate knowledge of the Latino Community.Is knowledgeable about community and Rochester City School District (RCSD) resources and an understanding of the RCSD systems.Must have fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education.Valid NYS license and access to own transportation.A combination of training and experience other than the specified, if judged to be adequate for the job, may be considered.Physical Demands:The position does require occasional standing, squatting, lifting of up to approximately 20 lbs. and frequent sitting.Salary Description $19 to $23 per hour
