Facilities Associate Staten Island, NY New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS), a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking a Facilities Associate to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. Clinics from Southampton to NYC. Practice manages a freestanding outpatient 7-day-per week Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy, and Research department The Facilities Associate will ensurethe efficient operation of the NYCBS locations. You will ensure that the NYCBS Staten Island/Brooklyn location is safe and secure for patients and staff. You will be Responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the NYCBS Staten Island/Brooklyn location including, cleanliness, safety, and security. The Facilities Associate will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for the management of the NYCBS/NYHealth locations, including interaction with outside contractors concerning building construction, HVAC, and any other related matters such as cleanliness and safety of the facility and employees.
- Review and/or inspect the work of outside vendors for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Ensure compliance of all NYCBS locations with applicable federal, OSHA, and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc.
- Develop appropriate safety and/or service plans to alleviate risk, provide protection, etc. for occupants of the NYCBS Ridge location.
- Monitor and evaluate operations, programs, processes, and/or practices for quality and effectiveness; make recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure that snow removal from the outside vendor is adequate (in this position you will need to shovel and clear snow/ice).
- Oversee the maintenance of the landscaping.
- Perform repairs in and outside of the NYCBS Ridge location.
- Order and maintain supplies.
- Stock supplies as needed in all offices.
- Other duties as assigned.
We require: - Valid New York State driver's license.
- High school graduate with good computer and organizational skills required.
- Five years of facilities experience.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
Hours: Monday-Friday. Flexible to work some weekends/Nights. Must be flexible with availability (7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) Salary up to $30 hr. based on experience.
