Executive Editor
As the Executive Editor, you will be responsible for steering and managing the editorial direction of our company. You will lead a team of reporters, editors, and content creators to produce high-quality, timely, and engaging news across our digital platforms, our magazine, newsletters, podcasts, and videos. You will oversee all aspects of news-gathering and news production, from ideation to publication, working intimately with our reporting teams across the country and across different beats. As Executive Editor, you will also serve as the liaison between the editorial team and the executive, sales, and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee news and editorial content across all platforms
Develop and implement a cohesive editorial strategy across our six markets
Develop and implement editorial standards to ensure consistency and quality across all markets and platforms
Lead a team of reporters, editors, and content creators to produce breaking news, market analysis, features, profiles, and investigations
Manage the editorial calendar and ensure that initiatives are set and met, big projects are carried out, and stories are delivered on time
Foster positive team culture, working individually and as a group with reporters and editors to encourage growth and improvement both as journalists and team members
Lead daily news meetings and periodic special focus, beat, and market-specific meetings
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, news, and best practices, and use that knowledge to inform our editorial strategy
Work closely with the executive, sales and marketing teams to provide insight and develop strategies that align with business objectives and drive revenue growth
Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of experience as an editor, including at least 5 years of editorial management, with a strong focus on business journalism
Proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Experience managing editorial budgets and resources
Knowledge of key players, trends, and issues shaping real estate is a major asset
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Bachelor's degree required
Master s degree in journalism or communications is a positive but not a requirement
