A large European bank is seeking to bring on an Executive Director Private Equity, Structured Senior Credit Officer
This role will report into the FI team head and is responsible for approving and monitoring the credit risk for a variety of financial institutions and counterparties with a primary focus on Private Equity / Financial Sponsors. This person will also be responsible for certain LBO transactions. This position sits on the second line of defense. This group also covers banks, NBFIs, insurance companies, broker dealers and asset securitization.
Some responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of counterparties and assets involved in trading/financing.
- Analyze the performance history and key risk factors of the counterparty, and make a recommendation for approval based on proposed limits and tenors.
- Validate risk ratings, Basle II parameters, and other financial metrics.
- Continuously monitor the credit quality of the portfolio, conduct portfolio reviews, and participate in quarterly watch list reviews to promptly identify deteriorating credits.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of of experience in financial services specializing in Private Equity and Financial Sponsors, with a focus on their financing requirements, encompassing a broad understanding of risks pertinent to these sectors, particularly excelling in credit risk analysis.
- Experience in having credit approval authority
- Strong analytical prowess and sound judgment skills are essential, coupled with a track record of comprehending intricate transactions and processes.
- Exhibited problem-solving proficiency and adeptness in working independently are required.
- Fluent in French is a plus but not required
