Job Title: Estimator Employment Type: Contract Work Hours: 40+hrs./week Work site: 100% Onsite Location: 4 Irving Place, New York, NY 10003 Salary: $65/hr. The selected Estimator will play a crucial role in the integration of clean energy, such as Offshore Wind, Large Scale Batteries, and Hydroelectric, into electrical systems. Additionally, the Estimator will support large-scale infrastructure projects across our service territory. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop complex, multi-discipline conceptual, authorization, and appropriation cost estimates for multi-discipline substation construction projects and transmission facilities.
- Utilize preliminary work scopes, drawings, and sketches to create accurate estimates.
- Evaluate alternative designs and contribute to the optimum design selection.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure estimates align with project goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in engineering, design, and construction of substations and transmission facilities.
- Prior experience in developing electrical, mechanical, and/or civil cost estimates for substations and/or transmission projects.
- Familiarity with the capital budget process and utility economics for the preparation of authorization and appropriation estimates is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.
- bility to work under pressure and handle multiple assignments with changing priorities while meeting stringent deadlines.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Project/Office and estimating software and databases.
- Familiarity with local, state, national, and industry codes and standards are preferred.
