JOB DESCRIPTION & PERSON SPECIFICATION EQUIPMENT ASSOCIATE LOCATION: New York EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Freelance/Hourly DEPARTMENT: Equipment REPORTS TO: Equipment Manager POSITION SUMMARY As an integral part of the Operations Team, the Equipment Associate serves as the main point of contact for clients requesting equipment on the day of productions. Tasks include the preparation, installation, and breakdown of equipment; remaining alert and aware of their surroundings, moving intelligently and efficiently throughout the studio. The Equipment Associate strives for superior client service, ensuring that all requests and inquiries are met with a smile and a positive attitude. Flexibility is crucial to excelling in this fast paced and demanding environment, where the extra mile is rewarded and teamwork is key. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Prepare, setup and breakdown equipment on photo shoots.
- Understand, learn and be responsive to the equipment needs of individual clients.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, in good condition, and tagged with Splashlight labels.
- Daily equipment inventory and repair.
- Equipment and storage room organization.
- Advise Coordinator and Manager of any urgent equipment issues or client needs.
- Maintain constant communication with other departments about productions that are taking place on a daily basis.
- Daily and project based tasks are completed promptly and efficiently.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS
- 1+ Years experience in a related field.
- On Set photography experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of industry standard Production, Grip, Electric, Strobe lighting, Continuous lighting, Digital and Production equipment.
- Inventory & asset tracking experience preferred.
- Proficient computer skills; MacOS and Google Suite.
- Ability to lift and move minimum 50lbs.
