**Environmental Health & Safety Manager (EHS) - Liverpool, NY**

As an Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you will ensure compliance with safety and environmental legislation and work with management in providing a safe and environmentally protective work environment for all employees. This will include 9 domestic facilities. **Responsibilities:**

+ Conduct safety and environmental audits and report findings to the appropriate level of management to create corrective action plans to resolve

+ Create, verify and maintain Job Safety Assessments (JSAs) for all US based sites

+ Facilitate change to behavior-based safety by working with management, supervisors and line leaders. Use all available means (staff meetings, safety committees) to push safety concerns/issues to resolution

+ Facilitate the identification of environmental aspects and impacts and the determination of those that are significant in order to minimize the impact on the environment

+ Coordinate employee safety and environmental based training including orientation, pallet jack, forklift, overhead crane as well as contract with outside services to provide hearing conservation, firefighting and first aid training. Provide line leader training to ensure understanding of safety and environmental aspects of their job

+ Serve as the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Management Representative, reporting to top management the performance of the System and recommending improvements

+ Establish policies, requirements, procedures and promote communication to improve safety and environmental practices

+ Manage ISO 14001 certification (keeping documents updated and following documents, annual required training SPCC, RCRA, Haz-Waste, etc.), participate in weeklong ISO audit, update monthly environmental objectives

+ Conducting waste profiles and ensuring the proper disposal of waste streams

+ Identifying new recycling or reuse opportunities, to minimize JMAs general trash

+ Manage all Worker Compensation and Disability claims including investigation of all work related injuries. Manage the first aid only medical charges and report claims to worker compensation carrier in a timely fashion

+ Assist Human Resources department with miscellaneous duties as assigned such as, but not limited to, policy review, budget preparation and payment processing

+ Follow Q&EMS Policies, Procedures and Instructions

+ Assist JMA in minimizing its impact on the environment and preventing pollution through recycling efforts defined in the waste management programs and ensuring chemicals are managed in a manner that prevents spills

+ Conduct and manage full site risk assessments for all US based facilities

+ Assure (Verify) that each US based site is meeting OSHA guidelines

+ Assure (Verify) that each US based site is meeting local health & safety guidelines

+ Create and manage JMA Health & Safety committee for all US based sites

+ Manage AED / CPR / Basic 1st aid trainings and assets for all US based sites

**Qualifications:**

+ A Bachelors Degree in a safety related field or a minimum of five years experience actively running a safety program in a manufacturing environment

+ Ability to travel 25%

+ Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred

+ Able to train and direct employees in different operations

+ Experience with Microsoft Office, SAP, Excel, PowerPoint

+ Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers

+ Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously to completion

+ Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills

+ Knowledge of Federal, state or local regulations relevant to the company (i.e., OSHA, HIPPA, EPA, etc.)
