Human Resources provides University-wide leadership for strategic HR initiatives and workforce solutions to meet the needs of the University now and in the future. As the primary hub for HR programs and initiatives, we engage constituents University-wide as a strong partner, service provider and resource related to all aspects of workforce management and development at all levels of the University community.

To support our mission to meet the current and future needs of the University, the Human Resources team is seeking its next Employee Relations Manager. The Employee Relations Manager will play a crucial role in providing leadership, direction, and counsel in various HR matters, particularly focusing on policy, procedures, and programs, as well as complaint and grievance handling.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in investigating employee relations cases and provide support in resolving concerns, problems, and formal complaints in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Advise HR Business Partners and operating departments on corrective discipline procedures, ensuring consistency and adherence to policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with University Human Resource Department and HR Business Partners to implement programs and initiatives effectively.
  • Analyze data in the Case Management Database to identify areas for policy enhancements, training needs, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of employee relations training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate for an Employee Relations Manager will bring over three years of professional supervisory or related Human Resources experience, preferably within a large, matrixed organization. Proficiency in the MS Office suite and other computer databases, the ability to think critically, collaborate and communicate effectively, and make important decisions, and the ability to think critically, collaborate and communicate effectively, are essential.
