A Winner Of The Metro Buffalo Top Workplaces 2024 AwardABOUT THIS ROLE: We are looking for a motivated Environmental Health and Safety Intern to join our team and contribute to our ongoing commitment to sustainability and workplace safety. The intern will develop a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations in the manufacturing industry and the importance of maintaining accurate records and documentation related to safety and health compliance.STATEMENT OF WORK:
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training.
  • Assist in completion of Lockout Tagout (LOTO).
  • Assist in conducting internal impact assessments and audits.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing safety data.
  • Helps to support routine safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
  • Contribute with the review of safety policies.
  • Participates in drills and exercises to ensure readiness for potential incidents.
  • Helps to create and maintain EHS files and records.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Undertake and/or participate in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of Sealing Devices.
  • Interact directly with colleagues, and/or other internal or external customers for the completion of assignments and the resolution of day-to-day operational problems.
  • Receive guidance, training, and mentoring from department team while planning and carrying out activities and assignments.
  • Support efforts to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
EHS Intern Qualifications and Experience
  • A student or recent graduate, in the discipline the following disciplines: Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences.
  • Eager to learn and work with various departments in the company.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.
Salary ranges for this position are determined based upon the job location and can be adjusted based upon experience, reflecting our commitment to valuing the expertise and contributions of our individual team members.
