Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP is seeking an associate attorney with 5+ years of experience in education law to join its established school law practice and growing higher education practice. Experience in public, private, and charter schools, as well as higher education is ideal. Daily work includes transactional employment work, including advice and counseling; student privacy and discipline; federal and state regulation; special education processes and proceedings; review and drafting of school policies and procedures; labor relations, bargaining, and grievances; litigation and administrative proceedings for schools; and school related business and financing. Candidate must be able to juggle multiple matters/issue and be strategic and detail oriented. Successful candidate must have superior academic credentials, excellent writing skills, and be admitted to practice in New York.
