Job description:
We are seeking a creative and dynamic Editorial Director who is ready to dive into the startup world and help build something groundbreaking. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a company at its inception and to make a significant impact in the media landscape.
Compensation:
- Currently, this position is equity-based. The right candidate will receive equity compensation with the promise of a future salary, contingent upon our upcoming funding round.
- Flexible part-time hours, with the opportunity to transition to full-time as the company grows.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Newsreel's content operations
- Facilitate Experimentation: Encourage and facilitate editorial experiments to test hypotheses about user engagement and content effectiveness, using data-driven insights to guide decisions
- Develop editorial guidelines
- Team management and mentorship
- Collaborate with tech team to help build Newsreel's app

Requirements:
- Proven experience in journalism
- Strong editorial judgment and an eye for compelling storytelling
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
