Also they do preventive work to avoid future overdues with accounts that have a high exposure.Support the development/update of the Internal Audit coverage strategy to effectively assess the Company s Treasury function (and supporting 2nd Line functions).Assist in creating and delivering an annual audit plan for the Treasury function (1st and 2nd Line) using an integrated auditing approach that considers financial, operational, compliance, and technology risks, among others. This involves understanding the Treasury business strategy and ensuring that the IAG coverage is designed to evaluate the most salient risks associated with such strategy.Lead and perform global audits for the Treasury & Capital portfolio focusing on key financial risk areas including Market Risk Management (MRM), Asset Liability Management (ALM), Liquidity Risk Management (LRM), Foreign Exchange Risk Management (FXRM), Funding, Asset Securitization, Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), and Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR).Lead a team of audit professionals to perform audit engagements, ongoing monitoring activities and validation of audit and regulatory findings in conformance with professional and department standards and within budgets and deadlines. Ensure team meets all required skills and competencies to audit according to regulatory expectations.Set direction and provide guidance and oversight during the planning, execution, and reporting phases of all audit engagements in the assigned audit portfolio, including special advisory reviews; and ensure ongoing monitoring activities are effective in capturing existing, upcoming, and emerging risks. Assessments will include capital management and liquidity risk management practices (e.g., liquidity risk governance framework, management responsibilities, risk appetite/limits monitoring reporting, liquidity ratios, collateral availability, capacity of existing and potential funding sources, cash flow projections, intraday liquidity stress testing, funding concentrations, management s adherence to liquidity regulations that include but are not limited to Reg YY, Reg WW, Liquidity Coverage Ratio, Net Stable Funding Ratio, FR 2052a, IDI and 165(d) Resolution & Recovery Planning, etc.)Grow the use of data analytics (Analytic Control Tests or ACTs, and other data-driven analytics) in the audit portfolio in support of IAG s NextGen initiative.Develop effective relationships with management and have a strong understanding of AXP S business model, its products, services, and organizational units. Identify and calibrate the primary sources of risk and design effective audit test plan to assess the control environment. Lead meetings with internal and external collaborators.Coach, guide, mentor, and develop less experienced colleagues and co-sourced resources in geographically diverse offices across all aspects of their role, the audit and analytic lifecycle, audit methodology, best practices, and banking concepts and products (including associated risks and controls). And coordinate coverage as appropriate with other peers in Internal Audit.Validate management s corrective actions to address audit findings and regulatory gaps. This involves reviewing applicable regulatory requirements, assessing/confirming compliance gaps, and evaluating management s remediation activities to confirm that the regulatory requirements are effectively and sustainably addressed.Minimum QualificationsBachelor s degree in accounting, economics, or finance.7+ years of relevant work experience with a significant portion in one of the following:1st LoD Treasury (Liquidity/Capital),2nd LoD Risk Oversight or (3) Internal Audit at a major financial institution in the U.S. (i.e., Category I, II or III banking institution under the Tailoring Rules).Experience validating internal controls and deep understanding of risk assessment concepts to assess and challenge the existing controls framework supporting the management of funding, liquidity, and capital management risksSubject matter expert with deep knowledge and experience with Treasury / liquidity risk regulatory requirements that include, but are not limited to SR 15-19, Reg Y, SR 10-6 Enhanced Prudential standards for Category I/II/III bank holding companies, Reg WW (Liquidity Risk Management Standards), FR 2052a Reporting Instructions, and the liquidity aspects of Recovery and Resolution Planning [165(d), CCAR, Basel, etc.A strong understanding of Balance Sheet management, in particular liquidity risk management, including the roles and responsibilities of the 1st and 2nd line of defenseStrong judgement and sound decision making with an ability to challenge management s assumptions based on knowledge of products, business, and treatment in BAU / Stressed scenariosKnowledge of a bank s Balance Sheet and products such as the portfolio of high-quality liquid assets, loans, deposits, on and off-Balance Sheet commitments, derivatives and how these products react during periods of stressDeep knowledge of liquidity stress testing to assess the potential impact of stress scenarios to a firm s cash flows, liquidity position, profitability, and solvencyThe ability to understand liquidity event management processes for managing liquidity during identified periods of stress along with the processes, roles, responsibilities, and triggers for enacting the contingency funding planIdentification of sources and uses of funding, understanding a firm s funding patterns, and shifts between pledging of collateralStrong communication skills, with evidence of working collaboratively across organization, including a clear approach in communication of issues and requests. And an ability to coach, instruct, mentor, and develop junior colleagues and co-sourced resources effectively.Strong written and verbal communication skills that deliver quality, actionable and impactful feedback to management on potential control issues and solutions to close gaps. Experience interacting with U.S. regulatory examiners.Effectively work independently, within a team and across teams in a challenging environment to drive business results, utilizing related project management skills, employing creative thinking, and the ability to work on competing priorities.Proven track record to lead and manage multiple projects and provide developmental feedback across deliverables.Preferred QualificationsExperience using data analytic tools, data visualization, key risk indicators (KRIs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and scorecards/dashboards to evaluate the Treasury and US Banking control environment.CFA, CPA, CIA, CRMA certifications preferred.Background in information systems, data analytics or information technology a plus.QualificationsSalary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
