Job Description **Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):**

Bachelors degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in business, transportation management or a related field. Five (5) years of full-time, progressive management level experience in transportation operations services to include supervisory experience. Experience with budget management and financial planning. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and/or Google Apps to include database management. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS Drivers License; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations. **(***Out-of-State Applicants, see Special Notes).** **Preferred Qualifications:**

MBA (foreign equivalent or higher) or a related graduate degree. Direct experience in transportation services industries. Experience developing a transportation plan for a large organization, university, or school district. Knowledge of State and Federal transportation regulatory requirements. Experience preparing and making public presentations. Experience managing the operations of an automotive repair facility. Experience developing policies and procedures. Seven (7) years of full-time, progressive management level experience in transportation operations services. Five (5) years of full-time supervisory experience. **Brief Description of Duties:**

The Director of Transportation is responsible for effectively managing the daily operation of the department. The Director must provide a safe and efficient transportation system for a community of over 30,000 people who study, work, live, visit and receive health care services. Develop, modify and implement policies and procedures to ensure a safe university environment, improve customer service and operational efficiency for all units. The Director will participate in collective bargaining unit negotiations and create agreements such as the Memorandum of Understanding, state contracts, local contracts, and rate structures for services rendered. Excellent communication and strategic management skills must be demonstrated. The Director of Transportation will be responsible for preparing and performing presentations to all levels of management and various audiences. The successful incumbent must have the ability to work with diverse groups of people. It is essential to collaborate with other agencies and units in the development and implementation of plans and programs. The Director of Transportation will require proficient skills with computer applications to include Microsoft Suite. **Essential Position:** This has been designated as an essential position based on the duties of the job and the functions performed. Positions that are designated as such may be required to report to work/remain at work even if classes are cancelled, and the campus is working on limited operations in an emergency.
