Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Project Finance to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and tax equity structuring within the renewable energy sector. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of our renewable energy projects, driving strategic initiatives, and maximizing value-creation opportunities through effective financial planning and execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial due diligence efforts for renewable energy project acquisitions and mergers, including analyzing financial statements, conducting valuation assessments, and assessing risk factors.
  • Develop and implement financial models to evaluate project economics, cash flow projections, and investment returns for renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, engineering, and operations to structure project financing arrangements and negotiate terms with financial institutions, investors, and tax equity partners.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including financial institutions, investors, tax equity partners, and regulatory agencies to secure financing and optimize project funding sources.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and support to senior management on M&A opportunities, capital allocation decisions, and investment strategies.
  • Oversee the structuring and execution of tax equity financing transactions, including partnership flip structures, sale-leaseback transactions, and monetization of tax credits.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics impacting the renewable energy industry, and provide insights to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline financial processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and optimize capital efficiency across the organization.
  • Proven track record of successfully executing renewable energy project finance transactions, including debt financing, equity financing, and tax equity investments.
  • Strong financial modeling skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Deep understanding of renewable energy project economics, financial markets, and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on driving value creation and delivering high-quality outcomes.
