We are in search of a Director of Human Resources who is seeking an opportunity to join a mission driven leadership team. Our ideal candidate understands that our work is about building relationships at every level, that challenges are opportunities and that every day we have the ability to inspire others and to be inspired. This position necessitates leadership, exceptional communication & collaboration skills, facility with Excel and working knowledge of Paycom or similar HR/payroll software. The Director of HR will play a pivotal role in supporting the Agency's priorities focused on recruitment, employee engagement, DEI, re-branding, website redesign and social media endeavors.Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Manage the enterprise or a recognized department, demonstrating authority in hiring, terminations, and decision-making.
    • Effectively handle employee-related matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, leaves, benefits, and collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Legal Compliance and Consultation:
    • Monitor and ensure legal compliance in all HR practices.
    • Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure policies align with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Human Resources Systems Development:
    • Develop and maintain HR systems to meet Agency needs, including hiring and termination processes, standardized forms, and policy manuals.
  • Employee Benefits and Leave Management:
    • Oversee employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Directly manage formal leave policies, including tracking FMLA, Personal Leave, Jury Duty, and Military Leave.
  • Personnel Management:
    • Directly supervise the Personnel Recruiter and Benefits Administrator.
    • Ensure efficient recruitment and maintenance of medical/dental benefits paperwork.
  • Training and Compliance:
    • Attend mandatory in-service training and ensure compliance with all regulations and Block Institute policies.
QualificationsQualifications:
  • MA preferred; BA/BS Degree required.
  • 3-4 years of experience in the field, with supervisory experience.
  • SPHR/PHR certification preferred.
