Job Description:

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction, planning, and execution of analytics initiatives to catalyze the transformation of healthcare and business operations. You will leverage your expertise in data analysis, healthcare informatics, and project management to develop innovative solutions that optimize patient care and improve overall quality outcomes.

General tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and vision for the development and implementation of healthcare clinical and quality data solutions. Collaborate with executive leadership to align analytics initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of analytics professionals, including business analysts and data scientists. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Solution Development: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of advanced analytics solutions that address organizational goals. Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Analysis: Drive the analysis of complex healthcare and payor data sets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that contribute to improved patient care and quality outcomes. Utilize various data analysis methods to uncover actionable recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, quality improvement specialists, IT professionals, and executives, to understand business requirements and translate them into analytics solutions. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor in analytics-related matters.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of data solutions. Develop reporting mechanisms to provide regular updates to leadership on project progress, outcomes, and ROI.
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of emerging trends, tools, and technologies in healthcare analytics. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, software, and data sources that can enhance data analysis capabilities and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the analytics team. Identify areas for optimization, process enhancements, and automation to streamline workflows and increase productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, Statistics or a related discipline, and five (5) years of experience in systems analysis and design of information systems, two (2) years of which must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or

2. A satisfactorily equivalent combination of certificates, education and/or experience, in which thirty (30) graduate-level semester credits from an accredited college or university can be substituted for one (1) year of experience, and each month spent completing relevant certificates can be credited for one (1) month of experience. However, all applicants must have at least a Bachelor s Degree.

Department Preferences

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as data science, computer science, informatics, or healthcare management. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in data and analytics in a large organization or in a technical capacity.
  • 10+ years of experience in the health care industry
  • Extensive experience in healthcare analytics, clinical informatics, or related fields, with a strong focus on data solution development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare data sets, clinical terminology, and quality measurement frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Front-end development of technical solutions
  • Understanding of back-end data infrastructure and management
  • Proficient with data analysis tools, including but not limited to SQL, Excel and/or SAAS
  • Proficient in various data catalog and visualizations tools, including but not limited to Tableau, PowerBI, Informatica, and/or Snowflake
  • Knowledgeable in electronic medical records, preferably EPIC
