We carry out our mission by connecting our customers to jobs, school,healthcare, shopping, and recreational activities every day.JOB SUMMARY:The Director of Business & Data Insights will lead the organization'sanalytics strategy, fostering a data-enabled culture and overseeing datacollection, tracking, review, measurement, and interpretation. This role ispivotal in providing statistical leadership, facilitating problem-solving, andinformed decision-making. The director will also ensure performance metricsalign with continuous improvement efforts and actionable insights.Responsibilities extend to IT-related tasks, including database design,maintenance, quality assurance, and systems integrity, to effectively track andreport data, identify trends through surveillance, and conduct statisticalanalysis and field epidemiology. Additionally, the director will offer expertmanagement advice and subject-related expertise grounded in empirical evidence.REPORTS TO: Chief People OfficerSUPERVISES: Business Analyst II, Business FUNCTIONS:Provide strategic leadership and operational guidance for businesstransformation efforts, fostering growth and enhancing operational efficiency.Collaborate with leadership to define and implement the strategic vision forbusiness intelligence and insights.Offer thought leadership on emerging trends and technologies in analyticsand business intelligence.Identify key performance indicators in collaboration with cross-functionalteams to drive prioritization and benefit realization.Partner with department heads and the analytics team to develop dashboard,analytical models, and reporting systems for actionable insights.Act as a liaison between enterprise data teams and business units to ensurealignment with organizational objectives, maintaining key relationships andeffective partnerships across the organization.Develops operating plans, budgets, and strategic objectives that support theAuthority's goals, objectives, and strategic plans.Provides statistical leadership through the management and implementation ofpolicies, processes and methodologies used in the collection, evaluation, andintegrity of data for the Authority.Describes, audits, documents, and presents performance information based onthe results of the metrics associated with the organization's TransitOrganization Performance Scorecard (TOPS), Key Result Areas, and Departmentlevel initiatives.Interacts with other business units to understand current business processesto identify process improvement and tracking mechanisms to assist in achievingoperational and financial results.Interprets and explains data and results to Executive leadership usingtabular formats, fact sheets, graphs, and reports on research results.Manages the American Bus Benchmarking Group (ABBG) data, submissions, andanalysis of results for benchmarking.Directs, coaches, and appraises the performance of direct reports andprovides the necessary project and task allocation and tracking coordinationbetween activities.Identifies training needs, initiates development of subordinates throughgoal setting, and recommends effective career development plans are in place forlong-term growth and retention.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's Degree required in Data Science, Analytics, or a job-relatedfield.Master's Degree preferred.Doctorate Degree a plus.A minimum of five (5) years of work experience in statistical analysis.Seasoned professional with a deep understanding of analytics, businessintelligence, and the ability to translate complex data into actionablerecommendations.Deep data knowledge and experience with data platforms, data analysis,visualization tools and change management.At least one year of supervisory experience required.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Use common practices such as regression analysis, ROI, net present value,benefit to cost ratio, breakeven point, etc. to conduct analysis and identifypositive financial opportunities.Apply statistical tools including but not limited to, trend analysis,regression analysis, and hypothesis testing.Create what if models to determine possible outcomes of strategicdecisions.Provides support to Planning and Legal departments in the area of Title VIcompliance.Familiarity and ability to leverage applicable Artificial Intelligencetechnologies.Other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Strong verbal communication and reading comprehension skills.Advanced functional use skillset with Microsoft PowerBI.Expert knowledge and daily working with Excel.Experience with databases and data sources.Ability to decipher and understand data structures and relationships inT-SQL.Ability to productively work with employees across departments and at alllevels within the Authority (RGRTA).Ability to clearly explain and 'sell' new ideas and proposals.Analytical, with critical thinking and active listening skills.Values integrity in relation to analysis and usage of company data.Decisive, with the ability to offer strategic business insight.Effective in reaching goals and objectives where no precedent previouslyexists.Customer/public service orientation.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
