JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Behavioral Health Social Work will provide oversight and direction of Jacobi's Behavioral Health Social Work Services. Position will act as the liaison between the Behavioral Health Division and external social service agencies.

  • Supervise, direct and lead all Behavioral Health Social Workers and other social work staff
  • Oversee clinical and departmental administrative responsibilities
  • Provide social clinical supervision
  • Conduct outreach to community resources and collaborate for linkages
  • Conduct medical record reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid license as an LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) or LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED); and eight (8) years of experience in social work activities, of which four (4) years must have been in a health or medical setting, including psychiatric social work, and four (4) years must have been in a supervisory, consultative and/or administrative capacity in a social work organization, health or medical care setting, or organization adhering to acceptable standards; or
  • A satisfactorily equivalent combination of training and experience. However, all applicants must possess a valid Social Worker license, as described in 1 above.
