This position reports into the Chief Communications Officer and will be responsible for raising the profile of the agency through external efforts including PR, social and the management of agency owned properties. This person ensures we are promising work and wins while ensuring brand messages are strategic, consistent, and effective at driving business growth. While this role will be primarily New York focused, there will be opportunities to work with and assist global team members as well.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES External Comms/ PR
  • Draft pitch releases and liaise with reporters regarding NY specific campaigns
  • Facilitate the dissemination of information about upcoming campaign launches across appropriate teams and functions including PR, global social, weekly newsletters and Grey.com
  • Manage of New York creative pipeline and coordination content/approvals with teams for external and internal promotion
  • When applicable, partner with our clients to build strategic PR plans to garner marketing/campaign stories, securing buzz and press around our creative output
  • Provide strategic counsel and support to creative / account teams' pre-launch
  • Build meaningful relationships with key client Comms/PR counterparts and creative leads to enhance and grow our overall relationship with the client
  • Leads New York award submissions (AOY submissions, people awards, non-creative show work awards) in partnership with Chief Communications Officer
  • Help secure jury and speaking opportunities for executives, as appropriate
Internal
  • Work in partnership with Chief Communications Officer to ensure the seamless facilitation of agency emails (including those sent via SendGrid)
    • Includes drafting, formatting, and securing approvals
  • Work in partnership with Chief Communications Officer to ensure the seamless facilitation of all agency events
    • IT / AV checks, deck compilation, saving and sharing follow-up content, catering for agency meetings/parties
Communications General / Global Connection
  • Represent New York studio on global comms calls to share New York work and news with global comms leaders
  • Oversee Marketing & Communications Specialist with regards to Grey Matter Podcast marketing and amplification, weekly newsletter content submission (both AKQA and WPP)
  • Ensure New York studio content (news, work, and capabilities) is kept up to date on both Grey.com and Go.Grey.com
  • Serve as WPP liaison for Grey New York studio for content related to creative work, news, and publications including the Annual Report, the Sustainability Report, WPP Weekly, reels for Cannes, case studies, wpp.com
  • Facilitate deck design for NY and global initiatives (New York playbook, Cannes Attendee deck, Cannes social guidelines)
  • Track global awards and press coverage throughout the year Aid and provide content for agency partnerships, events, and publishing opportunities with WPP, 4A's, Advertising Club, NAC, MM+M
  • Support Chief Communications Officer in writing and submitting New York and global award entries
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • 10+ years of experience in communications, corporate communications, or public relations role; in-house communications experience at a media or advertising agency experience a plus.
  • Excellent writing skills and great attention to detail
  • Maintains existing relationships with key industry press and is excited about building new ones.
  • Strong experience and ability pitching bylines and stories to the media
  • Ability to work in tight deadline situations and maintain excellent judgment in a fast-paced environment

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $175,000 to $200,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
