Digital Design Engineer
We are seeking a talented and motivated Digital Design Engineer to join the Communications division of the client s company who is a leading provider of cutting-edge components for the avionics industry.

As a Digital Design Engineer you'll play a pivotal role in the design and development of FPGA-based solutions, working with advanced technologies such as USB, ARINC-429, DO-254, CPLD, Allegro, and CCA.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement VHDL/Verilog RTL coding for complex digital designs.
- Design, simulate, and optimize FPGA-based solutions for avionics systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software engineers, and system architects, to define system requirements and ensure seamless integration of digital designs.
- Conduct design reviews, identify potential issues, and propose innovative solutions to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Work closely with verification engineers to develop and execute test plans, ensuring functional and timing requirements are met.
- Participate in the development and implementation of DO-254 compliance processes and procedures.
- Leverage your expertise in USB, ARINC-429, DO-254, CPLD, and Allegro to drive the design and implementation of communication interfaces.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design methodologies, tools, and techniques to optimize productivity and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in VHDL/Verilog RTL coding and FPGA design, ideally within the avionics or aerospace industry.
- Strong understanding of digital design concepts, FPGA architectures, and synthesis optimization techniques.
- Strong experience with high-speed communication interfaces and protocols (e.g., Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, UART).
- Proficiency in using industry-standard design tools, such as Xilinx or Altera Quartus.
- Experience with DO-254 compliance processes and familiarity with the associated safety and certification requirements.
- Solid understanding of communication protocols such as USB and ARINC-429.
- Knowledge of CPLD design and Allegro PCB design tools is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of signal processing techniques and digital communication principles is advantageous.
- Familiarity with simulation and verification tools (e.g., ModelSim, Questa) for functional and timing analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Onsite position - work onsite at client s Long Island, NY area office.
