Our programs are staffed by experts who help over 325,000 clients each year and advocate on behalf of all needy New Yorkers. Our services include 100% affordable housing at 21 locations, family violence services, Holocaust survivor assistance, geriatric social work, crisis intervention and the largest free kosher food distribution program in the world. Our network of 120 food pantries, affordable housing sites, and JCCs provide services directly in neighborhoods across New York City.Position Summary:The Development Associate works closely with the Director, Development to implement Met Council's fundraising strategies. The specific tasks for this role are geared toward engaging and retaining small to mid-level donors and helping to build a major donor pipeline.Principal Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow a monthly/recurring donor engagement strategy
  • Solicit small and mid-level gifts
  • Create engagement and stewardship plans for small and mid-level donors
  • Responsible for donor relationship management
  • Work with volunteer team to obtain and refer donor prospects to one another
  • Work with Director, Development on developing major donor pipeline
  • Prepare donor and prospect research
  • Communicate directly with donors to confirm and update donor information
  • Assist with recruitment and logistics for fundraising events
  • Assist with tracking and reporting fundraising trends and forecasting via Salesforce
  • Assist with administrative duties and other marketing and communication efforts as necessary, including the preparation of fundraising emails.

Skill and Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree preferred
  • Experience and proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook Calendar)
  • 2-3 years related work experience
Compensation: $58,500 to $60,000 per year.Benefits: Major medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; pre-tax commuter benefits; FSA; 403(b) with employer contribution; plus generous vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
