Job Overview:

Client is seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join their IT team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service skills and a strong technical background in supporting IT infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing end-user computing environments, with a focus on Windows and Linux systems, Active Directory, and Powershell scripting.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Provide outstanding customer service by promptly addressing and resolving technical issues reported by end-users.
  • Communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders.

Desktop Support:

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on Windows and Linux platforms.

Operating Systems:

  • Expertise in administering and supporting Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 7) and Linux distributions.
  • Ensure seamless integration and compatibility between different operating systems.

Active Directory Management:

  • Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions in Active Directory.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Active Directory authentication and access.

Powershell Scripting:

  • Develop and maintain Powershell scripts for automation and system administration tasks.
  • Implement scripting solutions to streamline repetitive processes and enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or similar role.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Powershell scripting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Desktop and Server, or equivalent.
