Job Description:
A distinguished denim manufacturing company in Los Angeles is expanding to their private label business to NYC and is seeking a Denim Technical Design Manager. The position calls for an experienced technical designer and quality assurance, dedicated to ensuring denim pieces not only fulfill the creative vision but also surpass standards of excellence. Experience working with large retailers, Target, Walmart, Kohl's is ideal. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work in sync with design and product development teams to realize design concepts with precision, ensuring consistent sizing and fit.
  • Guide team fit sessions, evaluating samples on models, recording feedback, and liaising with internal teams and external partners.
  • Examine garment specifications, construction, and fitting, providing detailed technical comments and suggestions for construction enhancements.
  • Engage with vendors to monitor progress and confirm compliance with design and quality requisites.
  • Address production and quality concerns in conjunction with the sourcing/production team to maintain brand integrity while identifying cost efficiencies.
  • Oversee workflow and progress reports to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Innovate processes to streamline product development, working with the Head of Production.
  • Cultivate strong teamwork within the company and build solid relationships with vendors.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in apparel technical design, especially in denim and bottoms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and precision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with an emphasis on teamwork.
  • Capacity to perform effectively in a dynamic setting, juggling multiple tasks and deadlines without sacrificing creativity or technical quality.
  • Deep understanding of garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, color theory, sewing techniques, and fabrics.
  • Proficiency in collaborating with international factories and extensive knowledge of the full package production cycle.
  • A driven individual with a passion for enhancing apparel quality.
  • Must be able to work full-time, in-house in the New York office
