We also empower our people to Make Things Happen, and encourage Setting Direction.BASIC FUNCTIONThe Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical-related support to our local market area and Dealer personnel within the USA. Maintain a strong customer focus on a daily basis across all channels including, phone, email, in person meetings, and on farm visits. Troubleshoot technical and software issues on dairy farms; including PLCs, computer networks, herd management software, robotic, and, industrial control systems. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supporting DeLaval herd management software and related equipment; including farm networks.
  • Manage support of new product installations and product updates.
  • Support the DeLaval field staff and dealer employees in DeLaval herd management software and equipment related questions
  • Provide technical, classroom-based training for field staff and dealer employees
  • Be part of an on-call rotation to provide support.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
  • Strong customer focus, with a sense of urgency to resolve problems or issues
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical systems, VFDs, PLCs, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of computer networking.
  • Strong communicator
  • Work cross-functionally; can function well as a member of a team
  • Ability to manage large amounts of information
  • 15% travel required- Remote based employees will travel more.
EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND
  • B.A./B.S. in Agricultural Equipment, Software Application and/or Engineering helpful but not required
  • 2-4 years of experience working with dairy equipment is beneficial
  • Understanding of dairy cow udder physiology and dairy milking systems helpful
  • Proficiency in Spanish a plus.
