**Insp?r Senior Living, Maplewood Senior Livings new brand of world-class, urban senior living properties, is now hiring Cooks for its new Insp?r Carnegie Hill property. Located on the Upper East Side and stands 23 stories with 215 residential units. It offers assisted living, enhanced care and memory care with a unique and innovative Integrated Care Model. **The Cook Role:** Prepares high quality food for residents and their guests based on established guidelines, keeps work area clean and organized and conducts themselves in a positive professional manner. The Cook is also responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of food items for all outlets and for maintaining a level of professionalism in the kitchen, as well as f ollowing food safe procedures at all times .

* Provides outstanding customer service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors of residents in the community

* Communicates with immediate supervisor on par levels of food items

* Checks daily food requirements and prepare them accordingly

* Ensures that refrigerators, freezers, working areas and kitchen are kept clean

* Ensures that equipment is functioning, sanitized and that any maintenance is reported to supervisor

* Ensures strict control of waste and portion and help to control food quality and cost using standard recipe methods, pictures and maintain low inventory

* Designs specials for the day when required

* Ensures compliance with all local liquor laws, and health & sanitation regulations

* Must be able to perform all line, prep and sanitation duties

* Participates in on-going in-service and training requirements

* Follows emergency procedures and understands safety practices and procedures

* Receives food orders and properly stores overnight deliveries

* Carries out other duties as assigned

**Education/Experience/Licensure/Requirements:**

* High School diploma or equivalent required

* Culinary training in a college program preferred

* Experience and passion in working with seniors

* Able to convey and understand information and ideas in English

* Be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary

* Work well in stressful, high pressure situations and be able to maintain composure and objectivity

* Be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by residents and guests

* Able to maintain positive working relationships with residents, their families, peers and other staff members.

* Must be authorized to legally work in the United States. Criminal background check required.

**All candidates will be required to show valid proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 before commencing work or commit to obtaining full vaccination within 30 days of commencing work, unless they receive an approved exemption from Maplewood. Maplewood will require unvaccinated candidates to obtain their first dose prior to commencing work and then obtaining a second dose with in thirty days after the first dose. Those who do not obtain full vaccination within that time frame, without an approved exemption, will be terminated.**
