Welcome to Shands General, the latest addition to our culinary journey following the success of The State Room, our esteemed cocktail lounge and tasting room located on our second floor. Shands General, located on the first floor, will serve as a spacious local brasserie, dedicated to showcasing seasonal menus crafted from locally sourced ingredients.
We're currently seeking experienced and motivated individuals to join our team. As we continue to expand, we require someone adaptable and eager to tackle new challenges with a sense of determination. This role not only offers the opportunity to contribute to our growth but also promises potential for personal and professional advancement as our company evolves.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Showing up on time, ready to work, and leaves troubles at the door.
- Responsible for daily set up and breakdown of stations, prep lists and organization.
- Responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of the station and kitchen.
- Adheres to company systems and aids in enforcing daily kitchen procedures, tasks, whilst also upholding health department standards daily.
- Reports to Sous Chef and Executive Chef.
- Knowledge and experience with placing food orders, proper inventory control and costing for management positions.
Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years experience as a chef or equivalent management position.
- NYS Food Handler's Certificate.
Compensation will be determined based on experience.
