Salary: $80,000 - $140,000

Job Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Estimator to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in estimating for a wide range of construction projects, including educational facilities, healthcare centres, industrial buildings, energy/infrastructure projects, hospitality/retail establishments, and office spaces. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates, analysing project requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Detailed Estimates: Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Project Analysis: Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Bid Management: Coordinate and manage the bidding process, including soliciting bids from subcontractors and suppliers, and evaluating their proposals.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs, providing regular updates and reports to project managers and clients.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and emerging construction technologies.
  • Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with detailed and transparent cost breakdowns and project updates.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records, including estimates, bids, budgets, and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably with a general contractor.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in estimating software (such as Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations across various sectors, including educational, healthcare, industrial, energy/infrastructure, hospitality/retail, and office projects.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues effectively.

Salary: $80,000 - $140,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
