COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE
Part-time, Temporary Position
Little Sisters of the Assumption Family Health Service, founded in 1958, is a nonprofit community-based organization that works in East Harlem to address the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual dimensions of family health.
Our Nursing Program is a Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA). We provide full-scope nursing care to first-time mothers, high-risk maternity patients, infants, pediatric patients, and the elderly. Our visiting nurses practice holistic, patient- centered care in the home setting and are patient advocates. Our partners at local hospitals and clinics rely on LSA s nurses to deliver patient care with skill, compassion, and warmth.
Reports to: Chief Programs Officer and/or CHHA Director of Patient Services
The Position
This is a transitional opportunity to help LSA transfer our CHHA license to another provider while providing interim care once per week for 2-8 month with a minimal patient load. The expected commitment is five hours per week in person (will vary with patient load), focused primarily on maternity and pediatric populations. Specific schedule is negotiable, and some work can be done remotely. We can work around your current schedule. On call coverage and referrals may be handled remotely.
Qualifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an approved program. Spanish-bilingual strongly preferred but not required.
Compensation: Compensation for this role is between $50-$60 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
