REPORTS TO: Director of Fine ArtsPOSITION PURPOSE Under the supervision of the Director, the Color Guard Section Lead is responsible for planning and instruction of the marching band's Color Guard.This is considered an extracurricular contract.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include:
  • Assist in the instructional delivery of the Color Guard.
  • Create choreography for the purpose of enhancing competitive routines while maintaining and challenging student abilities.
  • Engage students to practice, play and perform introduced materials.
  • Instruct students in routines and techniques for the purpose of teaching and improving fundamental skills.
  • Attend all rehearsals, sectionals and performances actively participating in assisting students in sectionals and whole group rehearsals.
  • Work with the Director during auditions and provide input into placement of students.
  • Assist Director in selecting appropriate color guard uniforms/costumes for the themed Field Shows/Competitions, parades, and other community functions.
  • Assist Director in maintaining inventories of color guard supplies, materials, and equipment; adjust and maintain color guard equipment ensuring timely availability for student use.
  • Monitor and control student behavior according to established procedures and share any concerns, etc. with the Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have musical experience with instruments, color guard, marching band
  • Must be available from July 1st - November 1st for Marching Band season/performances
SALARY: As per Unit 1 contract, $3,250 per seasonJob Description View Attachment
