Modern Packaging is seeking a CNC Milling Machinist to set up and operate CNC milling machines at their Deer Park, NY location.
Do you enjoy this work?
* Perform set-ups and manufacture the first piece
* Read and understand specifications and drawings
* Perform first piece inspection
* Follow both verbal and written instructions to plan machine set-up
* Select correct tools and make necessary adjustment including speeds and feeds
* Produce high-quality machined parts
* Strictly follow all job safety requirements and procedures which include machine guarding, forklift truck and hoist operation, and housekeeping requirements
* Measure and inspect parts for quality and adherence to specifications
Shift Details:
* Day shift hours are 7am to 5:30pm M-F and 7am to 12pm Saturdays
* Night shift hours are 5pm to 4am M-F

* 5+ years machining experience, including 2+ years setup experience
* Experience with CNC set-up and running VMC machines
* Ability to communicate and have technical discussions in English
* Proven ability to read and interpret detailed blueprint drawings, as well as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
* Organized and dedicated to a clean, safe, and orderly work area
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to multitask
* Capable of performing basic math, including working with and converting between fractions and decimals
