Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)Location: 33 Lincoln Ave Danbury CT 06810Duration: 7 weeks contractShift: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Sun, Mon, Wed, Thu, Sat)Job Summary: A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in the healthcare team by providing basic nursing care and support to patients under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs). CNAs assist patients with activities of daily living, monitor their health status, and maintain a safe and clean environment. They work in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home healthcare agencies.Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with personal care activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Help patients with mobility and transfers, such as getting in and out of bed, walking, and using assistive devices.
  • Take and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration rates.
  • Observe and report any changes in patients' physical, mental, or emotional conditions to the nursing staff.
  • Assist in feeding patients, ensuring they receive proper nutrition and hydration.
  • Provide basic treatments and procedures as instructed by the healthcare team, such as wound care, applying dressings, and administering medications (under the supervision of a nurse, in accordance with state regulations).
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including tidying patient rooms, changing linens, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed.
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of patient information and medical records.
  • Support patients and their families by providing emotional support and addressing their concerns and questions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and patient-centered care.
  • Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Completion of an approved CNA training program.
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare procedures and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach towards patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, lifting, and bending for extended periods.
