Job Summary
We are looking for individuals to join our client s team as Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Chemistry. Under direction, with very broad latitude for independent judgment and decision making, supervises, trains, assigns work to, and evaluates work performance of personnel in a small laboratory or laboratory sub-unit performing routine and complex clinical laboratory tests and analyses.
Job Description
- Maintains a program of quality control and participates in a program of quality assurance.
- Advises staff on appropriate methods and techniques.
- Oversees the ordering and maintenance of laboratory supplies and equipment as well as the preparation, packaging, labeling, and standardization of laboratory media and reagents; and records results and pertinent data of prepared products or oversees this function.
- Prepares labels, packages, and standardizes laboratory media, reagents, controls, and specimens for use in analyses.
- Prepares work orders for laboratory repairs.
- Assists in developing and revising laboratory policies and procedures.
- Conducts tests and/or other complex analyses.
- Designs and maintains charts, logs, and other records.
- Testifies in court or other proceedings as an expert witness.
- May prepare correspondence and narrative/statistical reports.
- May participate in or supervise the preparation, administration, and rating of laboratory proficiency test programs.
Skills Required
- 1 year Chemistry Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Valid license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist issued by NYSED, Primary Source Verification required.
- BLS preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Malpractice Insurance - All clinical workers are required to have active individual Medical Malpractice. A copy must be provided prior to start of assignment. All clinical workers licensed by the state of NY are required to provide.
- This is part time position
- Shift Time: 4:00 PM-12:00 AM; 1-hour lunches - 8 hour shifts - 3 days/ week
