- Maintain proper specimen handling, processing, and accurate record-keeping of patient test results.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct procedures related to DNA & RNA sequencing platforms.
- Manage quality control for all samples.
- Efficiently use the LIMS system for day-to-day tasks.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Sequencing equipment.
- Analyze specimens as per department SOPs, ensuring accuracy.
- Uphold laboratory's QC policies, documenting all related activities.
- Collaborate interdepartmentally for customer, client, or patient queries.
- Assist in training new departmental employees and attend necessary meetings.
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections when required.
Results Responsible for:
- Delivering accurate and prompt patient test results.
- Upholding safety and regulatory standards in the laboratory.
- Ensuring the successful operation of sequencing equipment and processes.
Required Skills & Experience:Technical Skills:
- Proficient in DNA & RNA procedures for sequencing platforms.
- Experience with the LIMS tracking system.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment such as Illumina NovaSeq, T7, and ONT.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a high-pressure environment.
- Analytical thinker with problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Educational Requirements:
- Mandatory: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related science field.
- New York State licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred) and 2-5 years of relevant experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Compensation: $52/hr.
