The company is currently focused on a diamond project that aims to discreetly define the world's last remaining sustainable diamond deposits. Subterrane Ltd. also has plans to disrupt major industries with its powerful intellectual property (IP) portfolio, including future gravity, renewable, and nuclear energy solutions. The company is currently fundraising for the diamond project under the 'oneEarth(TM)' brand.
Role Description
Seeking a highly experienced global finance and operations lead who is a fully qualified accountant (ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA or equivalent), with significant post-qualification experience at a senior level. You will have a strong commercial mindset and a proven track record in delivering robust and pragmatic infrastructures across the full range of Corporate Services.
The ideal candidate will have significant prior experience working in extractive resources/mining/ energy sectors. Your primary goal will be to increase our organization's productivity, efficiency, and profitability. You will be naturally experienced in balancing strategic development, with day-to-day operational demands. Monitoring cashflow and reserves will be an important skill to bring, as will a business partnering approach. You will advise the CEO on key operational insights as well as provide coaching to employees.
This position sits on the management control team and will take a hand in finance, HR and facilities and guide the Chief Exec with their future ambitions. You will be a qualified accountant, ideally with experience leading on operations in a previous position. Our opportunity will be best suited to those who come from a startup/ SME environment and are looking to be in a senior leadership role.
Responsibilities
Ensure the provision of accurate, detailed and timely financial analysis and advice to the Executive and Finance Committee to enable decision making and to maximise utilisation of resources
Produce annual operation forecasting report and strategy
Oversee and evaluate day-to-day operations
Identify new market opportunities to accelerate growth
Support the general management in the development of strategy for the profitable and efficient management of the site and facilities for the benefit of the company and wider sector
Present operational strategy recommendations to the CEO based on your market research
Qualifications
10 - 15 years' of executive experience in the energy/ mining sectors
Strategic planning and business development experience
Strong written and verbal and presentation skills
Strong leadership, demonstrated commercial prowess and organizational skills
Experience in deeptech/ technology/ innovation desirable
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field
MBA or advanced degree in a relevant discipline is preferred
Remuneration
This is a pre-seed founder role with the equity option. Once the opportunity has gained traction and raised sufficient runway funds, the position will be fully salaried with a competitive benefits package.
