Job DescriptionOur client, a not-for-profit teaching hospital serving an ethnically diverse community in New York City, is hiring a Chief Nursing Officer. Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Nursing Officer holds the critical responsibility of supervising the operations of Nursing Services. It is the duty of the CNO to synchronize the nursing team with the organization's mission, values, and vision, ensuring that every member operates at their utmost potential within their licensure, engaging in diverse and fulfilling tasks while upholding the highest standards of nursing and patient care practices. The CNO collaborates closely with leadership to institute ongoing education initiatives and career progression pathways for the nursing staff. This role necessitates seamless teamwork, requiring effective communication and cooperation with the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and Chief Financial Officer to achieve shared objectives and drive organizational success.Responsibilities
  • Oversee nursing strategies that align with the mission and objectives of the organization.
  • Engaging in financial forecasting and maintaining budgetary responsibility concerning the nursing personnel within the organization.
  • Executing strategic business decisions at a senior level regarding the organization's nursing workforce.
  • Contributing to healthcare safety and excellence by endorsing the organization's nursing care delivery model.
  • Spearheading programs to enhance patient involvement and interaction.
  • Supervising adherence to nursing standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Bachelor s degree in nursing required
  • Minimum five years experience in patient care service management.
  • Maintains valid, current RN licensure in the State of New York.
  • Maintains clinical credentials and competencies to be able to work clinically.
  • Complete annual education requirements.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
  • Comply with organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Attends committee, CQI and management meetings as appropriate.
  • Effectively and consistently communicates administrative directives to personnel and encourages interactive departmental meetings and discussions.
