A health services network on Long Island is looking to add a Certified Medical Office Assistant for a promising opportunity at one of their facilities in Nassau County.About the Opportunity:
- Setting: Ambulatory Care
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (37.5 hrs per week)
Responsibilities:
The Certified Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for:
- Greeting patients visiting the facility; answering any questions they may have and helping them fill out the required forms
- Answering phone calls and directing the calls as required
- Creating appointments and handling all queries
- Informing the Doctor, Nurse or other healthcare facilitators about impending appointments
- Maintaining a filing system for all patient documents and reports submitted
- Answering emails and other electronic messages as required
- Creating invoices and bills, processing insurance forms and managing vendors and contractors
- Managing inventory and placing orders as required
- Transcribing all notes and documents related to treatments
- Assisting with taking Vitals
Qualifications:
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Certified Medical Office Assistant (CMOA) certification
- Computer savvy
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- EPIC trained
