Bokksu Grocery team is seeking an experienced buyer to effectively execute buying for Japan-related products of Bokksu Grocery offerings. You are responsible for buying compelling assortments for our customers at Bokksu, expanding product selection, growing vendor relationships, optimizing logistics, driving sales with marketing and creative team and providing exciting customer experiences.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Execute sourcing strategy through buying for Japan-related products for Bokksu Grocery.

* Manage existing vendors to ensure appropriate reorders, identification of fast sellers, timely logistics management, and negotiation of favorable terms

* Nurture our relationship with existing vendors and research and develop relationships with other diamond vendors for new product introductions

* Collaborate with logistics, marketing, and creative team to maximize sales and optimize inventory

* Evaluate product sales to ensure proper product selections

* Make business recommendations re: opportunities based on trend, prior experience, data and analysis

* Automate the business process for efficient operations

* Evaluates and organizes products for special events

**Qualifications:**

* 3-5 years of buying, merchandising, retail pricing, sourcing, operations management or related experience in Japan-related food or lifestyle products

* Deep knowledge of Japanese foods, lifestyle products, trends, and culture

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Japanese language proficiency is preferred

* Experience developing strong business relationships with vendors and manufacturers

* Experience managing and creating new categories of business in an extremely competitive environment is a plus

* Strong analytical skills; demonstrated ability to drive analysis into action

* Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and lean methodologies

* Skills in Asana, Airtable, Shopify, Shiphero

* High level of internal motivation and desire to achieve goals with excellence.

* Demonstrated skills in identifying problems and solving them

* Demonstrated skills in identifying opportunities and taking advantage of them.

* Demonstrates commitment to, enthusiasm for, and assertiveness in achieving goals or ends.
