**DESCRIPTION** This position is responsible for selecting the finest and most distinctive product in their area of buying responsibility that meets the high standards of quality and best suits the needs of our customers. This position must also produce sales growth and meet or exceed the annual financial objectives.

**Specific Duties/Responsibilities:**

* Develop and execute strategies to exponentially grow the business

* Develop seasonal merchandise plans

* Manage the buying process, including building assortments based on historical and current product performance, analyzing business and managing inventory flow

* Review and analyze business weekly, monthly, seasonally, developing appropriate initiatives

* Analyze competitive pricing, product, presentation and timing

* Establish and maintain vendor relationships and attend market

* Negotiate buying terms with vendors (price, margin, quantity, delivery terms)

* Identify key opportunities to maximize sales and drive the process to meet financial objectives

* Proactively motivate selling teams through the communication of product knowledge such as collection notes, training and selling events

* Keep all cross-functional teams informed on performance, industry trends, new inventory and brand positioning

**QUALIFICATIONS**

* 4+ years retail buying experience

* Strong understanding of merchandising financials, retail math and the ability to manage profitability

* Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills

* Ability to act as liaison and collaborate cross-functionally with various division within the organization

* System Proficiency

* Detail oriented and able to multi-task effectively

* Extremely well organized, methodical and efficient

* Must possess sound business judgment, ability to identify trends, and excellent negotiation skills
