Business Operations Associate

January Service Company

Location: New York,NY, USA

Date: 2024-05-14T05:51:53Z

Job Description:

At January, we work to ensure that borrowers who fall behind on debt are treated with fairness and respect. Owing to outdated processes and bad actors, traditional debt collection is rife with harassment and fraud. Our products tackle this by helping financial institutions modernize collections, giving borrowers simpler and more compassionate ways to get back on track. About the role: We're hiring a Business Operations Associate to maintain and improve our client reporting capabilities and internal team processes. Your work will strengthen January's reporting offerings, client relationships, and January's internal operations. You will collaborate closely with numerous internal stakeholders, such as January's Engineering and Product team members, as well as January's financial institution clients. You'll make an impact by:

  • Own new and existing client reporting workflows, optimizing them for efficiency and accuracy. This work will ensure our operations can support rapid growth while remaining confident in our reporting abilities.
  • Collaborate with January's product and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues with and improve our internal tools.
  • Support January's Contact Center, Client Success, and Client Operations teams in ad hoc troubleshooting, and training on tools and data when technical support is needed (e.g., querying the database, interpreting data, investigating reporting)
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in analytics, finance, or consulting
  • Strong SQL is a must. To start, you will spend the majority of time interfacing with our SQL database
  • Experience developing and implementing process improvements and/or optimizations
  • Excited to tackle the nitty-gritty tasks that come with being at a startup to get the job done

We determine the final package by considering experience, applicable education and training, and relevant skills derived throughout our interview process. This role also includes a competitive equity package, giving you a chance to feel true ownership of your work. January prioritizes the safety and well-being of our team members and, as such, requires all employees who work from or visit a January office to have proof of COVID-19 vaccination or provide a valid medical or religious exemption.
