Job Description:

The Digital Dept. is seeking a full-time entry to junior level Business and Legal Affairs Specialist to assist its licensed in-house attorneys in reviewing agreements, performing legal research, and organizing and tracking agreements in the company s legal database. The Business and Legal Affairs Specialist will be working in the entertainment and, more specifically, influencer marketing industries, providing support, particularly with:

1) The Digital Dept. s talent management agreements to exclusively represent talent in all aspects of talent s monetization of their social media platforms, on and off platform; and

2) The Digital Dept. s advertiser/brand and talent agreements whereby the talent are contracted to promote, feature, and advertise the brand s products and messages on the talent s social media platforms in exchange for negotiated fees, terms with competitive exclusivity windows and usage of content assets in the brand s ongoing media and advertising campaigns.

Location: This is remote role but can be hybrid if you are located in Los Angeles or New York.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with internal team members regarding their needs for review of talent management and brand/talent agreements.
  • Review agreements and other related correspondence to serve as a resource regarding the governing terms of such agreements for The Digital Dept. and exclusive talent represented by The Digital Dept.
  • Research and analyze common practices related to entertainment, influencer marketing, talent management and advertiser/brand agreements.
  • Organize, manage, and track incoming requests and agreements from internal team members in the company s legal database.
  • Work closely with The Digital Dept. s counsel to operationalize The Digital Dept. s legal position and POV during the agreement process, and optimize preferred templates for talent management and brand/talent agreements.
  • Liaise with internal team members to best represent The Digital Dept. s legal POV on all legal correspondence and in all meetings related to agreement discussions.
  • Raise and escalate potential legal concerns as necessary, including facilitating discussions around The Digital Dept. s best practices.
  • Such additional, alternative, removed or changed responsibilities as may be directed from time-to-time by a supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with working within a corporate organization.
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Google Documents and Microsoft Word to track document changes. Familiarity with document and rights management systems a plus.
  • Comfort working in large scale shared documents.
  • Interact well with internal team members of all levels with the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Must have the ability to be flexible in all work situations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, research, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, with accurate input and proof-reading skills.
  • Strong operational and organization awareness.
  • Self-starter with excellent work ethic, sound judgment, discretion and commitment to managing assignments with professionalism and integrity.
  • Experience and familiarity with the entertainment, talent management, or influencer marketing industries, and legal concepts related to those industries, is preferred.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor s degree.
  • Preferred: Qualification to be a contracts or business affairs specialist by certification or education and work experience.

Annual Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
