Job Profile Summary

In the pursuit of new customers and optimal deals, the Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a pivotal role alongside the Account Executives, contributing significantly to revenue growth. Sharing the sales ambitions of a team of Account Executives, the BDR concentrates on bolstering their efforts by facilitating new business prospects enabling higher conversions of opportunities to deals. The primary goal of a Sales Development Representative is to enable Account executives to have a higher win of new business opportunities through effective networking and prospecting.

Duties & Responsibilities

Plan and strategize, with the support and guidance of the head of Field Marketing

  • comprehensive research on industry trends, competitive landscape, and target markets to uncover new opportunities and fine-tune prospecting strategies.
  • a thorough understanding of our suite of services and products pertinent to the target audience.
  • and incorporate the Account Executive (AE) plan, aiding in strategy formulation, which includes identifying potential targets, conducting detailed prospect research, and prioritizing effectively.
  • and record insights about firmographics and personas as integral components of the business development plan.
  • align the business development plan to leverage marketing campaigns and event schedules.

Generate new business opportunities in partnership with Account Executives

  • Prospecting: Proactively identify new leads using diverse channels including cold calling, cold emailing, social selling, and networking.
  • Leads: Analyze Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) from digital platforms, events, and Market Development Representatives (MDRs), prioritizing swift response to leads.
  • Qualification: Assess leads based on their interest level, budget, authority, needs, and timeline (BANT criteria) to ensure they meet the qualification standards for sales engagement.
  • Outreach: Reach out to potential leads via personalized emails, calls, or social media messages to introduce the company s offerings and gauge their interest.
  • Setting: Arrange appointments, demonstrations, workshops, or meetings for the sales team with qualified leads to further understand their needs and propose potential solutions.
  • Nurturing: Maintain consistent communication with leads who are not yet ready to purchase, build relationships, provide valuable information, and keep the company at the forefront of their minds until they are ready for sales engagement.
  • CRM Management: Keep the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system updated with accurate records of all lead interactions to track progress, evaluate performance, and ensure a smooth transition to the sales team.
  • with Sales Team: Work closely with the sales team to provide insightful information about prospects, share feedback, and align strategies for lead conversion.
  • Learning: Stay abreast of our capabilities and offerings, industry trends, and sales techniques through training sessions, workshops, and self-learning to enhance sales effectiveness.
  • Tracking: Monitor and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, lead quality, and outreach activity to measure the success of sales development efforts and identify areas for improvement.

Preferred Competencies & Experience

  • 1+ years of experience in BDR or SDR role in B2B tech or services with a track record of meeting or exceeding quotas.
  • Thinking: Capable of planning and strategizing with the support and guidance of the head of Field Marketing.
  • Collaboration: Works well with the sales team and other stakeholders.
  • Learning: Committed to staying updated on industry trends, sales techniques, and the company s capabilities and offerings.
  • Qualification: Competent in assessing leads based on their interest level, budget, authority, needs, and timeline (BANT criteria).
  • Management: Effective in prioritizing tasks, such as swift response to leads and appointment setting.
  • Building: Excels in building relationships with leads who are not yet ready to purchase and keeping the company at the forefront of their minds.

Required Skills

  • Research Skills: Proficient in conducting comprehensive research on industry trends, competitive landscape, and target markets.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent in both written and verbal communication for prospecting, initial outreach, and lead nurturing.
  • CRM Management: Experienced in managing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, preferably Dynamics CRM.
  • Sales and Marketing Knowledge: Well-versed in sales techniques, marketing campaigns, and event schedules.
  • Analytical Skills: Skilled in analyzing Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Networking Skills: Effective in identifying new leads using diverse channels including cold calling, cold emailing, social selling, and networking.
