Above all, we believe that collaboration is the bestPrimary ResponsibilitiesHDR NY Transportation Group is seeking to hire a Bridge Engineer to work on bridge projects. The primary duties of the Bridge Engineer will include producing design criteria, design plans, design calculations, and specifications for bridge projects. The Bridge Engineer will be part of a team completing the necessary analysis, design, and calculations required for the project. It is expected that the candidate be a team player ready to work with the rest of the bridge staff in a collaborative environment and help build the technical performance of the group. The Bridge Engineer shall be familiar with both local and national bridge codes, standards, and specifications as well as involved in industry organizations. The Bridge Engineer shall also have experience managing projects and teams which includes managing project scope, schedule, staffing, and budget.In the role of Bridge Engineer, we'll count on you to:Perform as a task leader to independently lead and manage small task groups in conducting analyses, developing design solutions, and preparing design drawings, calculations, and specifications for bridge engineering projects.Perform engineering designs requiring application of standard and advanced techniques to deliver excellent technical work.Perform detailed checks of the design work being performed by other members of the design team.Work independently on small technical engineering projects or be part of a larger design team on technical projects.Provide technical mentorship and development to younger staff.Represent HDR at industry technical seminars.Support Project Managers in tracking scope, schedule, staffing, budget, etc.Keyword(s): Bridge Engineer, Structural Engineer, *LI-MP1QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Professional Engineering (PE) License.Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the bridge industry.Experience working in a team environment producing designs on minor and major bridge projects.Versatility in any of the following software products: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Inventor, Revit, Microstation, Larsa 4D Bridge Plus, SAP 2000, FB MultiPier, Leap Bridge Enterprise.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned and client-focused culture is a must.
